Restored version

Friday October 28th – 7:00 pm

Shakespeare Theatre, Art & Mozart in Two Acts

Act 1: Robin Weatherall, British Shakespearean, will stage Five Kings, inspired by Orson Welles’ 1939 Shakespeare interpretation.

Act 2: Acclaimed Tibetan artist,

Tashi Norbu,

on stage, will create a large scale painting to the music of Mozart, played live by members of the Midwest Mozart Festival.

Prof. Marguerite Rippy

of Marymount College will discuss her upcoming book on Orson Welles’ all

Black Voodoo Macbeth

set in Haiti.

Filmmed footage of the play will be screened along with interview of original Haitian actor Tommy Anderson.

This play was a Works Projects Administration (WPA) production which took place at the Lafayette Theatre in Harlem.

It opened April 14th and ran until June 20th 1936.
